Can you use any expoxy (from Walmart) for the transducer or does it have to be a special kind of expoxy?

I just put a new transducer in my boat a couple weeks ago and I was told by an installer to use 1500 psi or higher 2-part epoxy, and he recommended that I get a fast acting (5 minute) brand that way I didn't have to hold it for 30 minutes or so to keep it from sliding - it worked great! Just remember no air bubbles! I mixed it right in place piled it up and squished my transducer into place.
Try Devcon 2 ton epoxy they sell it at walmart and it is cheap.
I've used the stuff that Lowrance puts in their products---well, it works but only for a while. If you get any water back there---it will break lose.
I finally got some industrial strength JB Weld---works great. Epoxied two transducers down and it works real good.
