I have had these lights for well over 10 years and the rubber suction cups do not hold as well as they use to. I was going to try and order new ones from stan sloan but the phone number is no longer in service and could not find another one while searching the web. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to help it. I have to put my black lights on the stan sloan rails that are made for narrow rail boats and they are also coming loose after a short while.

I have one of those lights also about 10 yrs old. what happens is the rubber dries out and forms small cracks. I used some WD 40 to moisturize the rubber and it works pretty well. The oil fills the cracks and swells the rubber slightly to create suction.
i bought moonlite cups to replace my old sloan cups. i've seen similar cups in hardware stores.
I've used Stan Sloan's black lights for years. I rigged mine up specifically for use in my old Tracker because of the thin gunwale. First I riveted two L-brackets to the bottom of the light. Then I bolted a 2" spring clamp that you can get at any hardware store to the other leg of each bracket. Now all I have to do is open the two spring clamps, slide them over the gunwale, plug it in and I'm ready to go!
