    opening weekend, do any good?

I went Saturday, saw a doe with two fawns come through that I passed on, saw another doe with a pair of fawns who turned off a side trail and skirted the thicket. Then had a soliatary doe heading right my way at about 9:15 a.m. If she walks another 40 yards I am eating backstraps, instead she turns and drops over the ridge and straight toward the river bottom. Funny thing is, she didn't act spooked, she turned and walked but there is no trail there. Very odd behavior, but oh well.

    How did anybody else do?

That's great ducker, forgot about the resident geese opener and the dove opener. Sounds like time to fire up the grill.

I had 3 bucks, a doe and fawn within bow range for about 30 minutes as they browsed along. No shooters but a good time to be in the woods.

just spent the day scouting. have not found the monster yet. must have good buck to hunt any more, so i spend most time scouting and about 20% of the time actually hunting. there should be lots of big bucks this year.
