Anybody taking kids on the Youth Deer Hunt?

I'll be taking my youngest for his first try,8 years old,while he's been on a few hunts with me,I didn't feel like he was mature enough to shoot before now.I was and am a patient person and really just enjoy getting out with the little guy.Hopefully he can score,we have several does and two younger bucks that frequent where I have him setup,the big boys usually satellite in here around the rut.

good luck to you and your son, when he scores that first deer it will be more special to you than anything you have done before. I will be stting in the woods with my 13-year-old who has taken three deer, all does and says this is his year to kill a big buck. I guess we will see.

Next year, I've got 7 grand kids 3 will be huntin in 2009,,one more year watchin,,, it's going to be fun eH

Agree 100% of what Tim T posted. My best times afield have been on the youth hunts(a LOT of work however!) with my son.
