First off, you'll need a large rock. Take this rock throw it out about 15 ft or so and punch a hole in the ice. Next, take ya anything that you can cast accurately enough to land in a 6" X 6" hole and cast away.

In all seriousness, if there is no ice cover on your pond, I would work a tube or jig as slow as humanly possible! Did I mention slow....ya....SLOW! That's your ticket. In ponds, flip around cover or anything sticking up out of the water. The bass will hold tight to cover during the winter in ponds. Good luck!

Crawl a black and blue small jig and pig on the bottom, slowly and you'll get a few. Use pork in the cold months you'll get more bites than with plastic.

I caught 33 bass out of a big pond last year in January when it was 40 degree's outside with a white fluke and rolled a white rooster tail slow down the edge of the bank. Most of them were in the 2-3lb range, but I caught a hoss that went 5.2 on the fluke. I don't know if it was the day or what, but I hope to replecate it again this year.

I have caught several good bass and a catfish or two on silver buddies, 1/4oz jigging spoons and yo yoing rattle traps in ponds this time of year. Also I would try a drop shot or shakey head.
