    markland???

i have never been up there and i have to visit a freind in carrolton on the 23rd and i might leave out early and fish from the bank. i have been told you get off at the exit that takes you to Belltera casino and there is a park around the bridge where the dam is and thats where people fish from the Bank. if anyone knows and would be kind enough to share some info about markland it would be greatly appreiciated. Thanks Bassking

The exit is off of 42 it takes you over top of the dam that is the bridge, once you take the exit and cross the bridge you come to a stop sign, straight across the road is the parking lot, so go to stop sign and cross over the road and park. The steps will lead you down to the river, I see guys getting up close to the generators to fish, but that is in the summer, dont know the winter time pattern.

    Re: markland???

i fish down there alot during the spring and summer but mostly for skipjacks for bait. I have a friend that catches quite a few sauger down there but mostly smaller ones. If you go down the steps like others have said in the previous posts you have the fast moving water to your left closer to the dam and a sandy flat to your right. I seen guys fishing both for sauger so i would start on the sandy beach on the right past the rock pile that you will see and then work my way towards the dam. I catch a lot of white bass and hybrids up closer to the dam. I am not sure if you will do any good on them though. If they are in there they will be right on the face of the dam. Good luck and let us know if you do any good.

Check out the flow before you go...

I wouldn't bother fishing from the bank if it's over 20ft (it'll still be well over 20ft by next week).
