    Need water temp at Reelfoot

Could someone direct me to a web site that gives the water temp/and or forecast for Reelffoot? Thanks. I'm planning on a spur of the moment trip to Reelfoot but need to know water temp before we go.

Tyme I've been there twice, google Reelfoot and you will get alot of info on places to stay around the lake. Call one of those places and they wil tell you everything you need to know. We always stayed in Samburg, that little strip there has alot of motels in a row that cater to the fisherman. For Heavan's sake Tyme DO NOT TAKE YOUR OWN BOAT BROTHER YOU WILL BE SORRY. Rent one of those package deals and have a good time. It's a little early yet, lake really get's rolling in about another three to four weeks. Big crappie and some dandy bass, finding them can be a challenge but if you do there are some in there with serious shoulders. Good luck and tell us how you did when you get back and be careful down there.

mhall: Yeh, me and my fishing buddy are doing the package deal. Thanks for the heads up but I already knew NOT to take my own boat.

We're looking at March 18th or around that time. Since we are both quitired we can go anytime. We're thinking about staying at Eagle Nest Resort at Samburg. Heard anything about them??

We just want to know when the water temp increases to the "crappie bite".

Eagle Nest is a fine little place and has been there treating folks right for a long, long time. I stayed at the Samburg Motel with the Bunch's twice. They have a little grocery store there to. Good people, I think Mr. Bunch has passed on now and I'm not sure if that family even still owns that place or not. Reelfoot if you have never been is awesome, get you a map so you can find the navigational (ditches) as they call them. These will take you from one large pool of the lake to another. That time of year you are going the pads will be laying low, late in the year that lake looks like the Everglades or something it's really cool. You fellas are gonna like it Tyme and there are some magnum crappie and Gills in that lake.

Tyme also if you have one take a small t motor as most the rentals do not have them only outboards, I think you can also rent a t motor from them. Blue bank is good also, I have not been in a while but we went Mid march like you and the crappie were not on heavy then, we did catch about 50/60 in three days but they all were slabs, also had a couple of cats over 5. We just went out in the middle of the lake and drifted with the wind with poles in holders, but I also exploryed the lake some watch out you can get lost there? You should be able to catch plenty at that time, just be careful as that lake is dangerous. Have a good one.

Thanks for heads up on the t-motor. I knew that the resort boat does not come with them but they are avaiable to rent. Will probably go that route.

Neither I nor my buddy have a transom mount t-motor. Anybody want to loan me one?!!!

Do like I did and skuddle. It makes your arm a little tired but it took me back to when I was a kid when that's all I had in my little 10' jonboat. I remember getting my first trolling motor, man I thought I hit the lottery, lol.
