    spike it color guide

    has any body ever tried the spike it color guide thing that you put in the water and it tells you what color to throw. i was just wondering if it realy works or is it just something they are trying to get you to buy.

    Back in the day all the tournament fisherman had one of these on there boats, back then they looked like small tv's on the front of a boat, you can go to ispikeit.com and go to the color selector, the guide is pretty neat, alot of crappie fisherman swear by it......Roland Martin and Jimmy Houston are promoting it, i've got one but the times i've used, i couldn't get bit with live bait!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck and check that website out,

    wow if i was looking at the right thing, thats pricey. really sounds bogus to me. lol some of the colors on their are just goofy. lavender? since when did interior decorators start picking out soft plastics.

    wow $119 too tell me what color too throw,too rich for me but if anyone has one can i say maybe rent it,LoL even better borrow it.

    the one i seen was $89.00 at bps looks like the same thing it is kinda of goofey i will just stick with the basic rule of thumb. natrual in clear to stain water and dark or bright colors in muddy waters. and charge my self $119.00 for the advice.

    i also say dont buy. the rule of thumb i use when selectin a color clear water nat color baits, staind water chartruse colors, baits with flash..

    I agree, green pumpkin and black and blue is a great place to start. I'm only going to throw about four different colors.
