I hiked Ashes Creek from the Doe Run WMA off Route 1922. The shad were so thick back in that creek that I could walk across the top of them.

Water 49.3 Very Stained not one bite in 3hrs of fishing. Tons of shad back in the creeks. It was just good to be on the water.

I agree, its ridicolous how many there is, thats why you cant get a fish down there, they are so fat and full they wont chase a bait. If those hybrids would eat more, maybe the bass would bite better.
The department stocked T-ville with blue cats, it has made somewhat of a difference on the shad count already..........
Talked to the park officer when we were pulling out he said no one catching anything and the shad were thick all over the lake. It looked like black water because there were so many.
Looks like the catfish and striper guys need to make a bait run then!
Went to taylorsville today and caught 4 small bass back in the river in about 20 min.
