Glen springs has some good fish until the grass/alge sets in.
Herb parsons was good but I haven't fished there in years
reelfoot is close so is kentucky lake
look into running down to arkabutler or sardis and look into tunica cutoff

hello all. new here and from shelby county. just tryin to get a good idea of where to fish. ive fished pretty much everywhere but in the past month the only luck ive had was in the loosahatchie in arlington. catfish were hittin withi 3-5 minutes of every cast and used up a whole bag of stink balls. they were only bout 11-13" long but i wouldnt eat nothin out of there anyway. over the summer i fished mainly in a lake off 385 & austin peay and it was full of bass. ive fished in shelby farms, shelby forrest, mississippi river, wolf river, pretty much if i see a lake ill pull off and fish. well, 95% of the time i dont catch anything except a sunburn and a headache and it turns more into a way to drink a couple beers and kill some time with my buddys. im just wondering if there is any good spots around here that are free. bass, crappie, cats, bream, carp, hell it dont matter, i just wanna catch somethin. i use worms, rooster tails, stink bait, spinners, jigs, and dough balls. depending on what im fishin for and where im fishin usually decides how i rig my line. usually if its cat ill tie the hook above the weight and the weight at the bottom and stick my pole in the ground and pull the line tight. id like to catch somethin this spring. any help is appreciated

what about like mckellar lake or horn lake cutoff or anything local? i mainly fish for catfish so i figure whatever the ms river gets into should have some nice sized cats.
if your down south I would run down to lakeview down off 61 (third)
or tunica cutoff at moon lake
arkabultla is cool to fish off the spillway
mckellar is polluted real bad
