    Re: Going to Nolin

I don't have water temps and have not been on Nolin yet this year. History tells me that the water will still be well below summer pool but very fishable. Moutidier (spelling ain't so good) - Briar Creek - Dam - Boat ramps should be accessable. The water can get a little muddy with some of the rain that is coming. I wouldn't let that discourage me from going. From moutidier to the dam should be able to find good water clarity to fish. This time of year I like the main lake. But depending on water temps, the backs of the creeks could light up. HOPE THIS HELPS. Report when you get back (water temps, clarity, and most important how did you do). Have fun and be safe.

    Cool Re: Going to Nolin

Try a spinner bait till you find fish then a jig or shaky head for the bigger fish. Some big fish got caught last weekend. The tournament i ran had a 6.82 and USABassin had a 7.10.Good luck and be safe.Terry Adolph

    Re: Going to Nolin

I was there last weekend, caught lots of fish on cranks in 8-10' none over 15" found the creeks on the upper end were easier to get bit in and had warmer water in the mid to upper 50s. The water was very low, but I am sure there is quite a bit more now.
Some productive lures were spinnerbait, shakey head, and bandit 300s in crawdad colors. the water near moutiedeer was much clearer, but colder and less bites. One big sow of 6.5 was caught in our little club tourney. Hope this helps someone....

I was around redrock/moutardier area last sunday and water temps according to a fisherman in a boat was around 53-55 degrees. Wont be long before there looking for places to spawn in the shallows. Big fun if you catch them right. Good luck !

water temp yesterday was 57 at wax and 56in dog creek, cold front came threw and pulled the fish out a little deeper. throw shad raps (natural shad) #5 and 200 series bandits and you will catch plenty of fish with the occasional keeper
