If you are putting in at Baileys Point the Barren River State Park Lodge is the closest place. Days Inn and Comfort Inn in Glasgow are about $80 a night give or take $10. But the motel in Scottsville is closer to B.P. is closer than Glasgow.

Check out the Narrow Way Bed and Breakfast, it is located on the road to the Narrows campground and ramp. It is about half of the distance to Glasgow. They have accomidations for fishermen where a group can rent the completely finished basement level. I believe there are 4 beadrooms available and a large common area with tables, chairs, and a wide screen TV, very nice. You can even back your boat up to the entrance to the basement area and there are electrical outlets to charge you batteries. Very nice folks.

You can camp out at the state park now. I think the campground at Baileys opens on the 15th. It should only be like $20 a night.

According to mapquest, its 13.8 miles to the executive inn in scottsville from baileys point. It is 20.3 miles back to the motels in Glasgow.

Barren is kinda out in no mans land between glasgow and scottsville. And bailey's point is a ways off the main highway to boot. If you are looking to get off on the cheap i would lean towards camping. Down at the spillway, at the state park, I don't think that the narrows or beaver creek is open yet. There are no hotels (to my knowledge) near the lake, only the bed and breakfast near the narrows.

What is the reasoning for putting in at baileys point? If it is for a tournament I get it but if it is just because I would pick a different ramp as there are closer ones to hubs of civilazation (if you consider scottsville civilization).

I doubt that the tournament would let one guy go out from a different ramp because there are not any hotels near that area of Barren.

I didn't see anything about a tournament- my bad. I myself have fished a couple of tournaments where we actually launched our boat from a different ramp than the take off.

you might want to check out the Four Seasons Inn. It is not really that far when you look at the diffrence between staying in Glasgow and Scottsville. In Glasgow you have restarunts and a Walmart.
