Cumberland Point Rec. Area. COE ramp.
Is the C-land point very isolated? Do I have to worry about my vehicle(catalytic converter being sawed off) being vandalized. just curious.
thanks for info Dave
I fish out of C point alot this time of year.........I worried about the same thing...but so far no problems..........there is a campground there and hopefully the fact of people bieng nearby would stop people from whipping out a sawzaw and doing that........but who knows........
To get to Cumberland Point Recreation Area, take the Nancy exit off the parkway (exit 78) and go east on 80 just a very short distance. There will be a church on your right. Just past this church, turn right on 3262. Turn left on the first street you see (Hudson Road). This dead ends into Burnetta Road. Left on Burnetta Road across 196. Burnetta Road becomes Route 1664 at this point. 1664 dead ends into 761. Right on 761 and this dead ends into the ramp. Good luck and watch out for the drift!
Launch there with caution on windy days, and don't attempt to take out in the midst of a storm. I've heard of boats being sunk there.
Cumberland point ramp is one of the most exposed ramps to the wind I've ever seen. The last time I loaded the boat on the trailer there waves were crashing in hard over the back of the boat.
I normally put in at the state or jamestown ramp, I was just wanting to same a little run time with all the debris on the lake. But it sound's like it's quite a bit further down the road and I don't really want the boat on the bottom of the lake either.
thanks for the info Dave
