Fished Barren Sunday, water temps around 70, water actually looked pretty good, not stained at all. Water was way up, we flipped all day, and I flipped in the nastiest stuff I could find with a Gambler ugly otter, caught 4 nice bass, and missed 5, couple of which I saw, they were 2-3lbers. Also caught one on a soft plastic jerkbait, fishing around all the submerged bushes. Great day, a little cold in the morning, and windy all day, but the lake was very empty, didnt see a lot of boats, place seemed deserted. Partner caught 3 but he was not flipping very far back into the stuff.
Nice report, thanks.
Sounds like you did pretty well considering the cold front that you had to contend with.
Also fished Barren Sunday. We caught 8 keepers and a bunch of short fish flipping bluff walls. They were flat eating a jig and creature baits. Also caught a few on the flats loaded with bait. We didn't get bit in all those flooded bushes/trees..... but they sure looked good. Lake was very empty. Wish it was like that all the time!
