all i can say is after spending the day there today taking dad fishing,i am suprised there are not more incidents than you hear about.kids on the jet skis that can barely set on them and hold on to the dads setting on the back of pontoon while jr. runs within 10 ft of my boat,wide open,and the ski boats doing the zig zag down the lake while everyone is looking back at the young uns toobing.someone really should be watching where they are going,not everyone watching where they been..

I agree, I have had idiots pulling their kids on tubes cut in front of me, where I had to shut the motor down just to keep from chopping their kids up, and then they have the nerve to flip you off, its incredible!! I like you Steve cannot believe there arent at least 5 deaths every holiday weekend on the lake. Its to the point I only go real early, and real late at Nolin, because of all the idiots on that lake.

Me thinks Nolin has become the place where idiots banished from "The Rough River Destruction Derby" are sent. Sentences at Nolin tend to be short, and there have been many that make a break from custody and escape back to Rough before their sentence is fully served.

DISCLAIMER: I have met and enjoyed the safe company of many boaters at Rough, as well as Nolin. It's just that Rough seems to get more than its fair share of folks with a death wish due to the lake's tight quarters at spots.

My sister has a house at Nolin and they won't even take their boat out on holidays. That really says alot and it's it not good.

Guys not only do I agree but it's on all lakes. Quite frankly people just don't know any better and some are just plain stupid. I have gotten to where I do not go to the lakes on Holiday weekends at all, let the dummies have it.

Made the mistake of fishin' Rough one holiday weekend! Casting into the shore about 20' and a boat ran between me and the shore!
I stay home for the holidays from then on !

I have a lot at nolin and yes it gets crazy during holiday weekends and the only time i fish is early in the morning or late at night. But it seems to me that the memorial day weekend is the worst. Unloading and loading boat and on the lake. The reason i think this is would be because of a lot of first time boaters. People with new boats or even experienced boaters out of practice. It seems to me that the rest of the holidays after memorial day gets a little better--note a little better ! But still crazy. I was headed down the lake last weekend on my side of the lake and had a boat on the wrong side of the lake headed right at me. You would think he would have noticed that all of the boats going the same direction as him where on the other side of the lake ! Oh well i have vented enough. Safe boating everyone jc
