Couldn't we all?![]()

I'll be the first to admit, I am a bad fisherman, but today I had my best day on BRL. Threw a c-rig all day and caught fish all day. Bunch of short fish, but I also went through two limits of keepers. My 5 best would hav went around 15 pounds. Boated 2 four pounders and was nice enough to let a third 4 pounder shake off at the boat. They were inhaling that c-rig. My partner caught a ton of short fish and had one keeper fish. Another friend of mine had similar luck today as well. I could use more days like today!

Sounds like a blast! I also had a great day on the BRL last monday, however we were hitting them on cranks in 7 ft of water. Never got around to trying the C-Rig. We are planning on heading back there on Mon or Tues this next week. If you don't care, what part of the lake were you hitting them on? And any other info you feel apt to sharing would be appreciated. You can PM me if you don't want all to know. I'll be more than happy to give you a report when we get back. It's days like that that keep us coming back for more! Take care.

I am also a very poor fisherman but I have a few patterns that hold out other times of the year. I am always looking for someone to compare BRL notes with but unfortunatly I don't have any friends that fish it often. They all fish the surrounding lakes. I am also new to this lake, I just started fishing it last year. I have ran into sort of a slump since the water came up and I need some help getting on the fish, So I can't help but ask, what plastic did you have on that C-rig?
Thanks,
Nice report and I'm very happy for you, I can feel the excitement in your post, WTG!
That would be good to know, you are right. What plastic is used on the C-rig is the most important part. I can tell you that we killed them on crankbaits in sexy shad and bluegill patterns that dove 6-7 ft up in Skaggs. Just find water in the 8-10ft range, and you are in business. We are going to try it again on Tues. I'm interested in trying out the C-rig and see if it produces more than the cranks. I also read a post on C-cranking that sounded cool. I want to try that out too. I'll report back on Wed. and let you know. Take care.I am also a very poor fisherman but I have a few patterns that hold out other times of the year. We were up in Skaggs by the Narrows. What part of the lake were you guys on? Also, what colors on the spinnerbaits and beavers? I talked to a guy on the ramp that was coming out and said he killed them flipping a beaver up in Skaggs. I'll be up there Tues, looking forward to it. Take care.
