    Rough

Finally getting out this week, and heading down to Rough with my Son on Wednesday. Can anyone tell me where the fish are after all this rain, I am sure it will be up, and muddy, so do you think they will be up in the new shallow vegetation, or are they already out deep on the points, ledges, and bluff walls? Any help will be greatly appreciated, I have not been there but once this year, and really did crappy, and just hoping to get on a few fish. Thanks for any advice, not looking for specific locations, just a general idea of what depth they are hanging at. Really looking forward to the early morning and late afternoon, going to try out the buzz frogs in the new vegetation, and hopefully catch a few that way. Will try and post a report when I get back on Saturday.

    Re: Rough

Fished down there this past Saturday in a little tournament. I caught 3 all of them were right off the bank in about 2 foot or so of water. They were caught on a black and silver shad rap and a crawl colored crankbait. The bite however was very slow, I caught 2 keepers and another about 11 or so inches, my dad caught 1 keeper as well. I think the water being up had something to do with it. All the fish were caught in the backs of the creeks, surprisingly the water was just stain colored and not muddy at all. Also by the water line on the trees it looked as if the water was dropping as we fished. Hope some of that helps, as we all know the conditions change daily so by the time you get there it may be a totally new bite. Good Luck

Don't know if you would be interested in the hybrids but reports are saying there are some good jumps going on right now.

    Re: Rough

Just got back, and man was it hot, water temps around 92, no breeze, and just down right miserable. Fished at night, and had one hit on a 10" worm on a bluff wall, and then the trolling motor crapped out. Couldnt fish much after that but we did chase hybrids around in the jumps, but my big motor ran them under when I got close, couldnt troll up to them or we probally could of caught some, they were jumping everywhere. The big point just down the lake from State had jumps going everywhere, just wish we could of caught some, they looked like some big-uns.
