    The consequences of fishing indecision

So its 11 pm Monday night. Not sure if I want to go fishing in the a.m. or not. Fire up the internet and start surfing around fishing topics and lake info to see if I can get inspired to go. Time slips away and its now 2 a.m. Finally dcide I'll go in the morning, but too tired to make any preps. Plan to leave at 6 a.m in the morning. Figure I'll get up at 4 a.m. to have time to get the rig and gear ready to go. Go to bed, but can't sleep. Think about all the stuff I need do in the morning. Think about getting up and prepping the rig, then just sleeping in the truck till the 6 a.m. alarm calls for the driveway exit routine. Decide against that, and check my watch. It's now 3:15 a.m. Lay back to rest for a while knowing the alarm will yell at me in just 45 minutes. Drift off. Dream of fire alarms. Wake up promptly at 8 a.m. Realizing I overslept, race down stairs, get the coffee going, and run outside to hitch up the rig. Find a flat tire on the trailer. Out comes the jack, and lug wrench. Last lug is way to tight, so I stand on the cross-bar lug wrench to break it loose. Yep.....it BROKE loose. Lug now is twins. So unhitch from the truck, race to the truck stop, get a new lug, drive home, and install it in the hub. Spare tire goes on quick, and now its 9:30 am, and getting hot. Hitch up to the truck again. Can't decide if I still want to go or not. Head in for a cup of coffee, only to find in my haste I did put the water in the maker, but didn't put the coffee ground basket in place. So I have 10 cups of real clear hot water. It's 9:45 now, and still thinking I might go for it. But as I've worked up a sweat and thristy as a camel, I crack open a brew, click on the TV, sit in the air conditioning, and plan to see what the Weather Channel says the heat and humidity is going to be. I guess I pulled something loosening lugs. My back is stiffening up, I guess from over exertion, as the cool A/C air hits me on the back while I watch TV. So I lean back, not lie down mind you, just lie back to take the load off. I'm seeing the weather forecast and its talking about Hurricanes, and Tornadoes, and then I hear a loud crack that sounds like thunder. Yep, I was out cold. I realize as I wake up, I slid off the sofa, and knocked over my bee. The loud crack came from the longneck diving to its death on the coffee table. It's now 12:45 p.m. I've been out for right at 3 hours, and didn't even realize the heavy weather I thought was on the TV's was just my sleep deprived mind playing tricks as I caught up on the sleep I COULDN'T DECIDE to get the night before. I stumble outside to find brilliant sunlight, no wind, 91 degree heat and 75% humity. I unhitch the rig, park the truck so Momma can get in the garage when she comes home, go inside, take a shower, and crash out on the sofa. At 6 p.m Momma comes home from work and within seconds of being in the house, hits me with "Get off the sofa you lazy loafer", and then with "Have you been on your butt all day on the sofa?". I think for a minute thru a clouded head, access the danger, and respond simply with "Naw, I was going to go fishing but had truck trouble." And to stop the attack, I cap that comment off with "Want me to take you to Shoney's for dinner, I know you worked hard today". That gets me a smile, and a hug, but she accepts the dinner date. So aside from lost sleep, no fishing trip, a trailer tire and lug repair, a dearly departed longneck, and a wasted cofffee making effort, I also got to dig into my "Fishing money reserve" to buy Momma a dinner I really expected she would decline.

Next time I even think about fishing, I'm going to go, right then and there. Indecision is costly.

May not have been that bad. MAY BE YOU WERE STILL DREAMING, ie, double dreams. Check your bank balance and double check the tire..If so, ..could be YOU STILL HAVE ($$$) STAMPS TO CASH IN WITH THE THE LITTLE WIFE? Good...Good!,....But in your case, double check the tire and then make sure you don't have a Negative Balance with the wife......He..Haw..

Looking forward to your future reports...STAY ON LINE...
