    ky dam village

me and the family are heading to the ky dam village from sunday till thurs,i have to take a class being held there.sadly,im gonna leave the boat at home, the wife and kids will be running around during day so the boat is gonna stay home.the good news is im gonna take a couple rods and a small tackle box and try some fishing in the afternoon.i would also like to do a little tackle shop browsing.we already have a bead on pattis by the pier, but would like some other good food suggestions.

i need bank fishing tips, good things to go see, good things to eat,and good place to buy some new tackle.

    Cool Re: ky dam village

The cabin bait store is a good place to shop for tackle. Phone# is 502-388-0122. They are locate in kuttawa,ky not far from lake, you will most likey drive by on the way to ky dam.
I would fish the rip-rap right behind the ky dam village lodge. Try white fluke, dt series crankbait in parrot pattern, bandit 200 in rootbeer, watermelon, green pumkin, in about any plastic.

The walkway along the riprap is good but from the bank moving baits may be your best option rapala, popr also by the boat ramp a shaket head around the lauch should work if not drive up to eddy creek and fish around the marina.

You are very close to the best tackle shop around KY Lake. Fisherman's Headquarters in Draffenville. It is one if the best tackle stores I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot.

    Re: ky dam village

Ky Dam marina has 17' aluminum bass boats for rent. There is a good bait shop in Lake City just across the dam going toward the Cabin. It is on the south side has a ton of jigs that they pour. fishing line, terminal tackle I can't tell you the name of the bait shop maybe Kens Baits but it is worth stopping in. You need to go to the Cabin and Fisherman Headquarters as the other spoke of. For lunch you can get a bubba burger that is great at a convenience store do not know there name either but go across the dam east turn on 453 north (turn south on 453 to go to Patties) got to the y store sits in the middle of the y its about two miles north. Go west on 62 just west of interstate 24 is the willow pond you get slaw white beans and the best hush puppies with every meal. There is a Cracker Barrel west on 62 you will see it going to the Willow Pond. The Ponderosa in Draffenville has a great salad bar behind the Ponderosa is a strip mall there is a restaurant there called Parcells they have good food only open at noon.

Forgot if you go south on 641/68 to draffenville which is alo where the fisherman Headquarter is ther is a jungle golf and go cart rides etc. for the kids if they are young enough there is also a nice water park in Eddyville (past the Cabin going east on 641/62) There is also a retail shopping mall in Eddyville but I don't think they have much.
