First post from Frankfort, another surgery for me

Moved from Georgetown to Frankfort a couple of weekends ago and this is my first post since the move. In the hospital last monday night with pain in my stomach, I know what this is, released at 3am to come and see my surgeon at 8am Tuesday, admitted at noon Tuesday and surgery performed on wednesday. Another hernia surgery, Lucky #14 Hernia operation, Lucky #22 operation overall. Surgeon put me in to hopefully do the procedure laproscopic but we all know how my luck runs. Finds a huge hernia and fixes it plus finds a tear in another spot of one about to bust loose and fixes that one as well. No lapro here, nothing that a 7 inch cut and 47 staples on the outside won't fix. Tells my wife that I can't lift over 5 lbs for 2 months minimum and that he was running out of creative places to repair me. Had to sew the mesh to the muscle tissue this time because no other place to sew it to was available due to the past surgeries, scar tissues and existing mesh and other stuff already in place. This is par for the course for me, 1 acre to mow, plan on push mowing it because we don't have a riding mower and now this happens. My buddy Chunk has already offered to do the mowing the rest of the year, Best Buddy a guy can have. Thanks Jeff for the help on the room, Bonefish for the visit and help in the ER. Still have the best sugeon in the world and if he says he is running out of creative ways to fix me then I believe him. Happy 4th to you all, I celebrated early by coming home Friday night.

can't lift anything over 5 lbs. You better stay clear of Dale, but sounds about right for the Elkhorn! :-)

    Good luck to you!

    Elnut,
Sorry to hear that you had to go under the knife again, you are too nice of a guy for this to keep happening to you. Best of luck with your healing, I caught a few stripers for you on the 4th.
Come on over for a fish fry when you feel better.

You don't have a clue about me at all and barely know me for if you did you would know that I did not "help" lift all the furnture, I LIFTED all the furniture. Took off 4 days and used my brother in laws trailer and moved it all into our new house. Took 11 trips in this 18 foot enclosed trailer and I worked from 5am to about 10pm each night. Me and my next door neighbor moved it all. I was feeling great, the best that I have felt in 20 years and did not have any problems in moving anything. I don't know why it waited a week past the move to show its head. I figure this is my luck and thats life, or at least my life anyways. Thanks for the nice gestures and I promise to slow down for the next couple of months, don't really have any other choice. Just hoping this is alll and no complications yet to come. FNF season is only 6 months away and if I can't lift a gallon of milk how can I lift any FNF fish from Dale Hollow if I don't get better?

If I did not know you like I do, I would not even have mentioned that you were moving the furniture..LOL. I was just being nice saying that you probably helped move it...LOL Get well Elwood..and I know telling you to "take it easy" is like telling a bull in a china shop not to break anything...but at least "try" to take it easy.

I'm just getting to KNOW you and am REALLY looking forward to some Dale fishing with you this year .
