Good luck finding grass - except the weed right on the bank! Not allot of grass mats to be found, I'm guessing due to the high water this spring? Got to run FAR south to find the grass now

Guys,
Thinking about a trip down to KYL or Barkley in the next month or so. In the dead of summer, what area would you suggest? I normally fish the north end of Barkley and stay near grand rivers.
I'd also like to Frog fish early and late if grass exists the fish are around.
Appreciate your thoughts!

Fishing has been real good for me on the north end, plenty of road beds to beat and bang around on, current has been all but gone but you can find fish hitting deeper banks and ditches
If you reaaaally want to fish a frog, look for some of that emergent vegatation where a roadbed is running into shore, if you know what i mean. sometimes bass will slide up into that grass and ambush and theyll slide down the roadbed to deeper water for the day. other than that leave the frog in the box and hit those ledges.
My opinion: The frog bite was good down south early in the summer when there were plenty of fry schools back shallow...mostly in the weeds (not grass). There is some submerged grass down south but not up and matted as in recent years past due to the dirty water we had back in the two spring floods. Since the grass is not as prevailing as it has been, there are not as many big fish back shallow as has been the past few years in the summer because there are not as many shad in the grass...even on the main lake flats the grass mats are not there this year. Bottom line is, there is a reason the ledge bite has been so good this year....and the frog bite has not been all that good since early summer since most of the shad fry have moved out deeper.

Appreciate all the replies!! I will leave most of the shallow water gear at home and focus on the ledges.
