I'm no expert by any means, but I have seen an Erie Dearie tear up the hybrids trolling up there. Try one of those with a night crawler on the trailer hook. Good luck and let us know how you do.

When you troll at Barren, do you use the big engine at idle, or a trolling motor?

Bob-
I've done both. If you can into that 1.5-2mph range, you are in business. Idealy, you would like to have a little 5-10hp second engine to use just for trolling. The trolling motors that work by remote are nice as well. Like I said earlier, I'm no expert at it. Perhaps somebody on here with more experience can help.
