    Double planer board rig.

Ever tried this when you want to run live bait and lures?

    1. First rod with live bait, say you want to fish it at 40 foot, line goes down 40 foot and is attached to the planner board. Put the line down but do not deploy the board

    2. Second rod, say has a redfin surface running lure. Cast it out, now take that line and attach it also to the planer board with the live bait rig on it. Attach the line with the lure thru the rear planer boards quick disconnect only.

    3. Now play both rods out slowly to as far out as you want the live bait to be from the boat. On one planer board, running a set distance from the boat, your are now fishing surface as well as deeper and presenting live bait and surface lures.

This also means that if your are running just 4 boards with live baits at 20, 30, 40, and 50 foot, you can also have lures running at surface, 10, 20, 30 feet. Talk about covering a water column!

Never considered stacking rods on planner boards, only on down riggers with 10 lb plus weights. Now for me, if I have out two down riggers, 6 planner boards and hit a school of stripers (in my dreams), what do I do with all the crossed/tanged lines..What a problem to have!
