I use the 10 lb teat as a leader on 20 lb braid for shakey heads and I have'nt broke any fish off yet.

Flourocarbon is not the line I would choose for my flipping. It is ok to use it on your worms and tubes in sparse cover but not when you are flipping heavy brush

Fluorocarbon, in my opinion, is great for flipping as long as you use 20-25lb test and are tying the right knots. Some knots will lead to breaking off -- there are only certain knots you can use for it. Also, make sure whatever flouorcarbon you purchase for flipping is abrasion resistant (like Stren or Berkley 100%). I have had luck with BPS Fluoro in the past, but I'm not for sure if I would recommend it for flipping purposes......

I would agree that for flipping , flouro is not my first choice , although I have personally found that Gama 20 pound and up is the only flouro that I can not break on a short hook set. Im not much on xps flouro but thats just my 2 cents....... Good luck ............Jrod

Berkley 100% Flourocarbon is hands down the best flouro you can purchase. It is well worth the price. I have tried at least 6 other brands(including bps) and none have competed with it. Also when flipping with flouro you dont have to set the hook as hard with the low stretch. I think alot of people tend to set the hook too hard with flourocarbon and thats why you get broke off more often. I have learned that the hard way.

I use Hi-seas 100% flourocarbon 20lb line. It is abrasive resistant, I use it when fishing the trash and have very good success. Hi-seas can be found on the web. Try it you will love it.

Re: thoughts on bass pros xps flouro??

I use Gamma FC most of the time over the past 3 years. Works great. Almost never a broken line or knot. Sensitive, strong, but expensive.

I tried some BPS 17# last summer. It worked well then I had a breakoff I did not think I should have had. I was not sure of it and decided to stay with old tried, true but a bit expensive.

p.s. Vanish is crap and 95% of the people who have fished it will tell you so in a very vocal way. Don't let vanish taint you on FC. A good FC is the only way to go for bottom bouncing. Flipping I use 20# gamma or 50# braid with braid being the norm. You are getting a reaction bite for the most part and I don't think visibility of the line makes any difference.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the BPS floro. Vanish is garbage. I lost a tournament on Yatesville using vanish. Had to nice keepers break off. Ended up in second.

I have used the BPS floro for years and have had very few break offs. The only problems I have had came on the lower lb test line with shakey heads and that was probably from setting the hook too hard. I would highly recommend it. I did hear a rumor that said they had someone new manufacturing the floro and I have not had to buy any this year.

XPS is a good flouro. That being said, I normally use Seaguar because of availability at my local tackle store. I have use XPS 17lb on my carolina-rig, and big spoon and liked it.

Flipping I use 20lb Seaguar flouro or 65lb braid. I prefer flouro, and I love to flip. Just check for nicks and abrasion often.
