Yep treating these yahoo's as special is out of hand. They were voted in to do a job and for the most part they squander our money and time away with no fear of losing their jobs.

I was talking with a doctor yesterday, and our discussion turned to health care and reform. He too, as many of us have been, is pretty much a diehard critic of the Obama and Democratic plan.
He had a great point, and thought I would share that.. he feels that the republicans are missing a great opportunity here... his take is...
"Republicans should say we will sign on to this bill, as long as the first ones to sign up are....
The President and his family
The Vice-President and his family
All of Congress and the Senate, and their families"
Now I am a registered repbulican, but my response is that this will never happen. The GOP is not really all that different from the Dems anymore. Both parties are fighting for control and bigger government.
I am sure others have suggested the above idea of our elected officials being the first ones on the new program. I am sure it has been mentioned and I just failed to read it.
I LOVE the idea, and I had heard it from other family members, but this was the first time I had heard it from someone outside my family.
What do you all think?? Would this make you feel better about the program??
Tight lines...

Good post HDF. The President already dodged the question about whether he'll put his family on the plan. Heck no he won't be subject to the government health care plan, nor will congress. The president and most of congress also send their kids to private schools instead of putting them into the government operated DC school system. Why? Because most high level politicians are rich lawyers used to making the rules for the rest of us, not abiding by them themselves.
BTW, I had a checkup recently (came up clean, sorry lefties) and my doctor was so mad about government spending and health care he went into an arm waving tirade. I had to say take it easy Doc don't make me call Nurse Ratchet back in here. He had the last laugh though, dude's got some big ole fingers...

I have been a die hard republican since I was old enough to vote. But I'm changing my political affiliation to Libertarian. I want as little government as possible !
