What do you mean by "we"? I'm not celebrating it.

Furthermore, this doesn't have anything to do with the government of this country or the government of NYC. This is a private entity (the building's managers) who have decided to do this.

I'm not in favor of it and think it's a bad idea, but I respect their right to do it and don't think it's worth getting upset over.

"Celebrated" = adjective renowned, famous, outstanding, distinguished, well-known, prominent, glorious, notable, eminent, revered, pre-eminent.
