Going down to Green with Mr. Crappie David Jones

We are heading out Saturday Morning with David Jones (Crappie Guide). Hopefully the lake draw down will not affect our fishing. We hope to have a good time. My dad is going and the wife and kids are staying in one of the cabins at Homes Bend. We are going to do some fishing and hunting. I will let you guys know how it goes.

If I know Dave he will but you on crappie even if there is just a spoon full of water left in the lake. I have known Dvae for a long time and he knows crappie fishing and also is a great guy. You and your dad will have a great time. Tell Dave I said Hi and have him show you his MVD's and what he thinks about them.

I'm staying on a houseboat at Holmes Bend this week. Water is very clear at this end of the lake all the way to the bridge. Only fish I've caught are crappie off the dock. Not one bass bite for 4 days. The corps finished lowering the lake on Monday night. The rain raised the level about 4" or so.
I've never seen so many shad pods. At the mouth of White Oak Creek was a single pod 150 ft by 20ft. The water was black with shad.

we're in slip 36 (Scooby Doo Too). Stop by and say hi.

Dave called yesterday and siad the crappie bite is slow. So we may just reschedule for next year. I want to make sure we get our money's worth. Looks like it isn't going to work out. He said they are catching about 30 keepers a day.. Two weeks ago he said they were catching about 90 keepers 11-13" range.
