Just bought a boat with a Hummingbord Wide eye and was wanting to know the good, bad, and ugly about it. I see it has an accessory of a Side view, it different than a side imager. It looks more like a fish finder to the side than a high def view of trees and boats. Anyone use/have this model and could offer a tips to a new user.

Thanks Bro. I have read alot of it last night.....found it after I posted. What manuals don't tell ya is how they really work....are they accurate, are their bugs. I will find out over time through use though. Just curious if anyone actually had one to report on it.
OOOps, my bad, dude!
The wide side part is pretty lame. It kinda sorta gives you a feel if something is out there, but it doesn't really impress me. The regular down looking sonar works pretty good, but watch out for severe thermoclines that may show up as false bottoms. It wil look like the bottom, with fish swimming under it. And It's not real reliable at high speeds, might be the way my transducer is mounted ot the way my boat rides, but at full throttle, it skips, and blanks the screen, and I gotta slow down till it gets it brain back. Not a bad unit for a cheapie, but just not real high speed at all.
