Did anyone see Hooked on National Geographic channel tonight ???

It was pretty cool . It showed the fish that beat George Perrys record, but she was foul hooked weighing 25 lbs. 1 ounce & showed them weighing & releasing her. Also showed her after she died following spawning. Showed some good footage of the man KVD. Pretty cool show.

It was Dottie and it was the same show that was on last year. These guys took a beating when they caught this fish but were enough sportsman to know she was foul hooked and from what I remember they never officially submitted her for the world record. When you read what I read about these 3 guys and then watch the show, it is AMAZING at what they did to try and catch her. Fished 7 days a week for years at this lake, first in line at the gait when they opened, last guys out of the lake when they closed. 1 of the 3 guys had caught Dottie a couple of years ago and then she was like the 4th or 5th biggest ever when she was released. They saw her again the next year and she was bigger and spent the last few years pretty much fishing for just that fish. Talking about dedication to the cause to have this much dedication for guys that are holding down full time jobs and families is hard to believe. 2 of the 3 fellas changed to 3rd shift just to be able to fish during the day every day with the other 3rd guy that was already on 3rd shift. DEDICATION or STUPIDITY, take your pick, I know which one I pick

If you guys haven't done so, you should read the book "Sowbelly" it talks about the pursuit of the world record and the California guys, including the three in the documentary.

Btw, thanks to Pastorbass, I have a dvd of that documentary and can watch when I choose. Thanks Jeremy, you da man!

Despite foul hooking her and not submitting for the world record title, they still got a book deal and a dvd out of it all?...Sounds pretty good to me!
