Wife and I launched out of Burnside on Thursday and took a little trip up the Cumberland River to check out the fall foliage. Just took our time soaking up the scenery and taking a few photo's. Also, saw our first Bald Eagle in the wild about 10 miles upriver. Great day to be out.

Beautiful pics Boone. No better place to view the fall colours than out on the water. Looks like you both had the area all to yourselves. Thanks for sharing.![]()
Awesome pics! I viewed those pics while listening to some Patty Loveless "You'll never leave Harlan alive" man what a fit that was. What a purty state this is....Thanks for the great pics.
It's nice to see what the world looks like while I'm at work during the day, lol...
GREAT Pictures indeed! It's been forever and a day since I've been on the lake around Burnside, Waitsboro, etc...that's where dad took us the most when I was a kid. Every year I keep saying I'm going to check out this part of the lake, most particularly the river area where you took these pictures at.
Thanks for taking the pictures and taking the time to post them here.
Beautiful pics. Thanks for the look see.
NICE pics...
Today I drove from Columbia, South Carolina to Lexington...and thanks to the big rock slide that has I-40 closed on the TN/NC state line, I had to take an alternate detour route. From Asheville, NC I ran I-26 up to Kingsport, TN. HOLY COW. I had never been on that stretch before and I'm convinced that it may be the prettiest stretch of interstate in the country. HUGE mountains in peak fall color, rock cliffs, rivers, emerald green bottom land...I swear, it was like something from a fairy tale. Unreal! I couldn't believe how pretty it was down there.
