    Gear Review...Cell Phone #2

The first day I put my boat in the water was at Guist Creek, of all places I have a lot of "fond" memories of this lake, but it was Guist anyways. Here I am a first time boat owner, brand new boat and I am trying to figure out the bells and whistles of my boat. I have a Deep V boat with a HUGE livewell up front and a bait livewell in the back. I am playing with the buttons on the console trying to test out the livewell to see if it pumps water in, how long it takes to fill up, see what the manual and automatic settings are and such. The livewell is filling up and we continue to fish, HUGE livewell takes a long time to fill up. Then it kicks off but I still hear a pump running but can't figure out where. To my suprise, the bait livewell has filled up and kept on filling as I found out when I opened up the lid and see my wife's PURSE floating. Yes, floating and everything in it is floating, cell phone, digital camera, wallet, pictures, keys, everything that a woman carries in a typical purse times 10 is what my wife carries. Needless to say this cell phone and digital camera was not waterproof, her purse now smelled of the lake, everything in it was slightly "damp" or was it waterlogged. That first maiden voyage of my new boat cost me a new purse, new cell phone, new wallet/change purse, new make up case, and a lot of cold stares as we drove home and she laid out every picture on the floor on towels and tried to save all she could. So guilty, I ended up buying her a much better cell phone, digital camera, purse and all the trimmings than she had in the first place. One of the most expensive days on the water I ever had to not catch any fish. True Story
