Brian, You never mentioned this to Chris or I. Must of been the Ky. Straight Bourbon Blend that gave you amnesia. lol Pretty good picture of Gerald looking like he's having fun. Holler if you want to try the Smallies Wednesdsay.
We catch them out of the river. I had one foul hooked on a Trap last year that I finally gave up on, it was a solid 5 foot from tip of nose to tip of tail, looked like a dang Shark hooked up, no I did not land it in that current on the bank, lol.
I did however have it on for over 20 minutes and near the bank three times until I was exhausted and gave up. I pulled for all I was worth to break it off and the Trap came loose and I didn't even loose the my bait.
I caught one in 2008 at the hydros. It was 54" from tip of the bill to the fork in the tail and weighed about 34#'s. I will post pic to back up my story if I can find it. It took 45 mins to land on 12# test while chasing with the boat. What a fight!!!

Foul hooked one at the hydros a few years back. Jigging spoon hooked it about 18 inches from the tail. Hit it about 70-80 yards from shore. At first it didn't really fight all that much and thoguht I had a small catfish. Got within 20 yards of shore and it hit a current seam and folded my rod over as it took off pulling drag. Didn't know what had happend. Interesting fighting it from shore with all that current! Finally landed it. About 3 foot long without the bill. Released it with no pictures.
