Me too!! I got too many as it is but I always want more.
AMEN! At the rate things are going buy ammo.
I like guns too.I liked the video as he was having alot of fun. I would enjoy doing something like that occasionally to blow off some steam and raise a little hell. Of course, here we have gun control so I dont think it will happen anytime soon.
Margie,
For now we are not as regulated as most of the developed countries but there are some who feel we should have more gun control. I'm glad the NRA keeps fighting for our rights as responsible gun owners.
I can certainly see what you are saying Don and I agree that law abiding citizens who own guns responsibily and lock them up and get their gun permits and go hunting should be allowed to own guns for sport and protection.
I think the problem is and why some want changes is that the cuckoo nuts with rage issues and mental health issues and criminals etc get ahold of guns and cause devastating damage. I think that is sad when the police can't protect themselves cuz the gangs and criminals are using bullets that go thru their vests or machine guns. I think there needs to be some changes made as the USA is seen as a very violent country in regards to other countries. Stats show the number of murders and violent crimes is really high.
Now many would say "guns dont kill people on their own, people kill people" and that is true but my response to that is to stop the loonie bins who get access to the guns. Get them away from criminals and impose strict fines on gun shops who sell to kids or those with records. I think the law makers need to go after those who should not have guns such as anyone with a criminal record or mental health issues. That would include all the gangs and drug dealers. That would be a start in a positive direction. Guns should be locked up in the home so the children dont have access to them.
If I were you folks I would never want to lose your right to bear arms but I dont think the ways things are now if really what your founding fathers desired for their people. I think they would be quite sad with the way people are killing people with guns. Honest, law abiding citizens who work and pay their taxes should own guns if they want to in order to protect themselves and for sport. I think that is what the right to bear arms is all about.
Just my thought from an outsider looking in.![]()
That is a noble idea, however it doesn't work. Criminals will get guns no matter what, whether there are stricter gun laws or not. If someone wants to get a gun....they are going to get a gun. It would be wonderful if we said that only good people can have guns and that is it (and it actually happened), but it is impossible. Too many guns in too many different places unfortunately. Now many would say "guns dont kill people on their own, people kill people" and that is true but my response to that is to stop the loonie bins who get access to the guns. Get them away from criminals and impose strict fines on gun shops who sell to kids or those with records. Gills, while the idea is noble the logic is flawed. The criminals don;t care about the laws and are not afraid to break them. If you want to really read up on the gun control debate try reading the studies that have been done proving that gun control is flawed.
A good read would be John Lott Jr.'s "More Guns, Less Crime" a detailed study with scientific data to back it up.
In 1991 Professor Gary Kloeck of Florida St. University did an extensive study that found thatself defense use of firearms by US citizens occured 2.5 million times per year.
When Bill Clinton was POTUS, Attorney General Janet Reno and the Justice Department set out to prove the lies of the gun ban crowd. They commisioned a survey by the anti-gun Police Foundation. Unfortuantely for them the survey backfired and mirrored the results of professor Kleck. The study was so dissapointing to the anti-gun establishment that they never released the results and the findings were not discovered until 1997 and of course it was largely ignored by the mainstream news media.
Myself and all the men and women I know with guns don't commit gun crimes. More gun control on us seems questionable and I include gun control to mean new taxes.
I don't agree with imposing restrictions on the general public because of criminal activity.
How about deal with gun crimes more severely instead of grouping all of us under policies that criminal activity is dictating?
