It's gonna be 40 degrees on Wednesday and I'm dying to get the boat out. Where to go fishing from Lexington? Any thoughts!

I plan on going after those brown fish with the FNF on Lake Cumberland Wednesday morning. Weather forecast looks pretty good, cloud cover in the am. Down side is a chance of rain in the pm. Just hoping the water is not stained to bad from the recent rains. Will be fishing the West end of the lake, near Wolf Creek Dam. This will be my first FNF outing on LC in about 2 years and I need to identify/confirm some honey holes.
Weather looks even better for Thursday and Friday...Cloud cover and possible snow. Just might go both days also...depending upon the water conditions.
Thanks. That's what I was thinking also. However, I can't decide whether to put-in at the dam or at Jamestown. I like the area around Jamestown in case the wind picks up, because I can stay protected in Clifty, Greasy and Pumpkin Creeks.
think I'll give it a try also will put in at Jamestown. Boone where are you putting in at? Don (Shinerman)
Hey Don, glad I got to meet you at the Dale Hollow get together!
Plan is to put in at Halcombs early am (~6:15) and head over to the South shore down past Indian Creek and fish FNF on main lake points early. Now this is all based upon weather forecast of 2 mph SSE wind at 6:00am, increasing to 6-8 mph out of the South, SSW by noon. If wind gets up too heavy for the fly, then thinking I will go into Indian Creek and see what I can scratch up....fly.....jig...blade???
Since it has been almost 2 years since I did the FNF thing on LC, I need to get the stink off the boat before I fish with either you or Kygorski this January.
Boone hope you do well on indian, try whipperwill close to the mouth also. marked a lot of fish in that creek south of browns but they were tight lipped. Was planning on fishing all this week, but have some bad news, my son had a heart attack, and is going in for catherization today, hopefully a stint will do the trrick, but we wont know till this late morning, he told me to STAY home. They are worried about MY health. the day after xmas his car broke down, and he called me, I was on the road baxck and forth to l;ivingston and albany all day long. Finally got it running at 600 pm, a water pump, and not many garages open, A couple of young guys bfixed it on the spot. Then my daughter left for home, in northern indiana in a blizzard, talk about stress! Plus my companion is feeling poorly, using O2 . But such is life. I guess that the cruise my son was on during the past week, and sitting in the casino for hours, didn't agree with him.
Sorry to hear about your son. I will say my prayers for him. Might I ask for a name to be more personable in my prayers?Boone hope you do well on indian, try whipperwill close to the mouth also. marked a lot of fish in that creek south of browns but they were tight lipped. I went out with my Dad on Lake Cumberland on Tuesday. We caught 3 KYs and 1 smallmouth. None were overly large. We didn't start fishing until 10AM.
I caught 3 of them, so at least I've caught a few now this winter.
glad to hear youre back to your old fish catching ways michael...we need to plan a trip soon
his name is dan, he is a single father taking care of a 17 yr old daughter, his wife died of cancer around 4 yrs ago. He was an account exec for pepsi. and vice president of a jointly owned company, he did a lot of traveling, all that ended with his wifes death, he promised to look after his daughter, quit the traveling and is a special education teacher in Ga.From a six figure salary to next to minimum wage as a teacher, quite a come down. but he did save a lot of his pay. I told him to slow down, he is going for his masters degree, and working full time.He loves working with special needs kids.WE used to do a lot of fishing together, but not lately. His boat hasn't been in the water in three yrs now, sure do miss those trips together.
