    Gamma

News has come out that Gamma is getting out of the line business:

Gamma Technologies is pulling out of the fishing-line business. The news was announced in a note to its pro staff, which stated that henceforth, Gamma would focus solely on its tennis division, where the company has been exceptionally strong for almost 3 decades.

"In light of this decision Gamma Technologies is not offering sponsorships for 2010 and effective immediately all existing agreements are canceled," the note read.

Sad this was some awesome line

Was that the brand that Hackney was dropped from? A few years ago?

I guess you'll need to catch smaller fish. LOL

Just kidding. FYI, I tried the Basspro Fluorocarbon last year and was impressed. Of course, i don't fish as much as you so there's probably less that can go wrong with me using it.

You know that as soon as I read that I thought of you Dave I guess that is why I posted it because after using it when i was with you I had noticed that the higher quality rod mad such a difference that you achieved the same feel as flurocarbon - definitely an eye opener.

I have heard of guys saying that they put it in the refrigerator/freezer and it slows down the molecular breakdown or just keep it stored in a cool dry place out of UV light.

And yes this was the same line that dropped Hackney, I think they knew what was comming.

So Dave I guess we need to buy a 50K spool of it somewhere and build an igloo... lol

As soon as you guys find a "Gamma like" replacement, please post back here, lol. That is some good line, can't figure out why they didn't make it except it was hard to find (only on-line)???

    Re: Gamma

I guess my life is pretty good because this is the saddest part of my day. I never tried the hybrid Gamma but have been fishing the Gamma Edge FC for years on love it. I've tried others before and during my Gamma run but I came back quickly. Not sure what do to now!

My opinion they just did not market it enough...heck you could not even get it in Bass Pro, at least they never had it when I would stop by the Nashville store....just don't think they put much money in the marketing end of it and with economy that is not good.

    Re: Gamma

agree, they don't market it enough and the pure FC product is expensive.

I've never tried the co-poly gamma because I'm stuck on Yozuri Hybrid but I only use this for topwaters, cranks, spinnerbaits.
