Gas Springs

How do you change out the gas springs on compartments? Do you hve to change the hinges or can you put new springs on old hinges???

If they are hydraulic lift shocks, you should be able to take a screwdriver and pry the retaining clip back to remove them from the ball bracket where they attach. There will be clips on both ends of the shock. They are very easy to switch out, just make sure you buy the shocks with the correct lift -- it will be measured in lbs and should be labeled on the shock. Hope this helps.
