With it getting harder to find glass rods to pull planers and use for downriggers, the ugly stick is a life saver, they are tough.

I have one ugly stick lite I use for crankin, the rod is great supprisenly it has good feel for the money but watch out for the eyes they break off easy, it cost just as much to ship for the warranty as it does to replace.
I quess it doesnt help when you crank your rod down into a brush pile to get your lure back.

Also a fan of the commercial. I am a huge Ugly Stik fan and that was all I used until the Vengeance and Vendetta came out from Abu. Abu just makes great stuff.

This has been a favorite commercial of mine for a long time. I feel like it is a clip out of one of my mornings when I used to head off to fish, lol! My wife used to do that same crap when we were first married....she would throw a fit when I told her I was going fishing! Good thing that has past over the last 10yrs. She still might make a comment, but she realizes now that if I don't get my fishing fix....well, let's just say that I better! Still own two Ugly Stick Lites...rarely use them, mainly cause they are heavy, but they make great trolling and catfishing rods. The things are indestructable!
