Well Gary, I'm almost ready to rethink my apology for being a jonah. I'm sure you would have slayed them with the downriggers, dont you?

I blanked out. Spent most of my time on the FNF, but did through the jig for a few hours, fishing the lower end of the lake.
Fished Sunday pm...Monday AM and Tuesday AM. Nothing. Called it quits at noon on Tuesday and came home.
Not sure what the problem was...others had the same experience on Sunday...Mon..and Tue.(blanking out)...Some said High Water (lake at summer pool)...Others water to cold (40 - 41.6 deg), fish not looking up....whatever. But, one guy in my boat only through jigs all morning on Monday (Hopping them) Not enough experience on FNF/small mouth to have an original opinion?![]()

PSVEC....sent you a PM.
Well at least you stuck it out, next time you'll be so much more happy. Did you see any birds, indicating baitfish activity.
jerkbaits should be coming on soon. It should only get better with Friday temps and sunlight.
Late March is jerkbait time. Throw it or you'll wish you did.
Boone-Leaving tomorrow for 3 days. How deep was the bait? Did you graph any bait in pockets or mostly main lake? Thanks
Gary,
Sorry to hear you got skunked, but I'll bet you still had a great time.
Steven and I were thinking of heading to Dale Hollow this weekend, but the reports from there are so bad that I don't think we're going to bother.
I guess Cumberland is probably still way up as well.
Michael
Best advise I have been given lately is fish main lake points and pockets. If FNF bite is not on, switch over to jigs. Marked some bait fish (darn few) at 5-10 feet in main lake pockets in early am. The few fish I marked were suspended off the bottom at about 20 feet. Check out www.smalljaw.com
Dale water level is at summer pool and temp is 40 mid lake to 41.6 on lower end. Color is good.
Gary
Cumberland is trashed. More heavy rain on the way Sunday and Monday, It's not looking good for the Big C right now.Gary,

Looking back, I'm sure I would have certainly done better than the FNF. But just to wipped...neck/back from all the fnf fun I was having . Couldn't get excited about main lake trolling around for the eyes in that 20 something weather. There's always next time.

When I crossed over Wolf Creek Dam on Tuesday pm....water was BROWN/MUDDY. Never seen the water on the lower end that colored last year.
Good news...didn't see any logs or wood floating around.
Good fishing to you and Steve if you go.
Gary
