    Victims

I am sitting here once again watching t.v. and they announce they found the body of 17 year old Chelsea King in San Diego. I pray that the parents can find the strength to deal with this tragedy.
Again another life is snuffed out by a previously convicted predator. I wonder just who are the people that think this guy had a right to be free again. We have plenty who are willing to fight about waterboarding terrorists and hurting their feelings. But yet our society protects these violent predators who kill molest and kidnap our children.
This predator was convicted of raping and beating a 13 year old girl and served five years of a six year sentence. That's right a six year sentence? There have been plenty of people go to prison for smoking weed or even less offenses that got more time than this monster.
But we sit back and watch our system forget about the real victims. Its not just the parents of the fallen that I am referring to. I am saying that we all are the victims. As a parent we spend our days terrified to take our eyes off our kids if even for a second. We do not want our children to ever endure this kind of tragic end.
Sure we make it a matter of importance to say that our kids can't drink alcohol. They can't drive and talk on a cell phone and they can't smoke a cigarette. But we will allow violent predators to be free and prey on our kids, for what? To protect the rights of violent criminals. This is just what really upsets me about our country. Is this is the best we can do for our kids?
You want to save some money then let's clear our prisons of violent predators and put them six feet under. Why feed them and give them medical care and have to pay people to guard them. Just to turn them loose to commit the same crimes or even worst. Our prison system is already busting at the seams.
These violent predators have in my opinion forefeited their rights once they were convicted of these heinous acts of violence. They no longer deserve to have "rights".
I am just tired of watching these tragedies unfold over and over again. Being the father of two daughters just makes these crimes anger me that much more.
You would think some lawmakers could come up with laws to make sure these things don't happen again. You would think that this would be something they could agree on, but then again....... Sorry about the rant. Well sorta.

I have little faith in our justice system...it seems it's existance is to protect those who are guilty more than anything else, at least in a lot of cases this seems to be the case anyway. They say there's a code within prison walls that a person who enters prison for any violation against a child gets dealt with by the population of the prison. I believe this to be true...but I also believe the law knows this and in some cases it goes out of it's way to protect those who are guilty of such crimes by placing them under "special confinement", away from the more hardened criminals I guess.

Ya, there have been several cases of the prison population retaliating against these predators. Why not let the parents get first shot at "payback". It is Pretty sad though when the career criminals even know these guys don't deserve to live. Law abiding citizens just don't want to face the cold hard fact that there is no "rehabilitating" these predators and even if "rehabilitation" was possible, it isn't worth the risk.

The judges that let these guys and gals go free after a few years should be taken out. It's terrible and heartbreaking...so is the guy charged with this?

That's as good a rant as I've read in quite a while...no need to be even sorta sorry.

5 years for raping and beating a 13 year old girl then being turned loose to rape and kill another? Anyone looking at this country from a logical and analytical standpoint would conclude we're idiots.

As I look at my daughter right now running around the house in her Scarlet Ohara outfit (man, I'm one lousy Rhett Butler) I'm 100% certain I'd ignore all that noble 'don't take law in your own hands' baloney and kill any low life piece of scum SOB who messed with her.

Yep, years ago and many times since. What I found was surprising, a convicted offender within 1/3 mile from my home. Excellent information for a father to be aware of.

I always check the site to keep up to date. If you look around they are everywhere. And that list only tells part of the story. Granted not all of them are violent offenders yet but it's just a reminder it's a sick sick world out there. And it's obvious we aren't doing enough to make this country a safe place to live.

I was watching and they are going to charge the guy. But what is ridiculous is on the first offense of what he did to the 13 year old he was only eligible to get 10 years max. That's crazy in itself. But for him to not even get the max, and to offer him a deal to do six and he only served five. Nuts just Nuts.

    Re: Victims

Sex offenders are never rehabilitated............I say take them out back and KILL THEM.

PERIOD.......And while you're at it..........every car thief, bank robber, kidnapper, carjacker, crack dealer, pot dealer...............TAKE them out back and KILL THEM ALSO.....

I bet we will also lower some of our subsidies that we pay too.

A WIN, WIN, and it only costs you a few boxes of .45's.

    Later,

    Geo

That would certainly take care of many problems. Too bad our political leaders are totally out of touch with reality and do not know what people want. We pay them to take care of our business and they lose contact with reality and make a career out of political arguments that accomplish nothing. Perhaps it is the air or water pollution there in Washington that messes with their minds. Personally I am all for voting out anyone who has been in office more than 2 terms. Rant, rant, rant.

Sure would like to hear what Ted Nugent had to say! Have a feeling the convicted offender would never have another chance to hurt someone....

    Re: Victims

I think DH is right that was a good a rant as I've ever read and it was 100% dead on the money. I have a daughter that will soon be 20 and I love her so much it hurts. If anyone ever harmed her in this way I would make it my life's mission to find them and I won't say on this family site what would happen after that. That is not an attempt to sound like a tough guy just a plain honest to God fact.

No human being should ever be let out of prison after hurting another person the way this guy did and especially a young child. I agree with Geo, they CAN NOT be rehabilitated, their DNA is so whacked it can't be altered.

Convict them beyond a shadow of a doubt and let the family decide their fate from a list of options that range from life in prison without the possibilty of parole to various forms if death. I live here within five miles of the Kentucky State Reformatory and I know alot of fellas that have worked in that facility. Believe me, this kind of people, child molestors and the like live a very HARD life in prison. There has been a few that have nearly bled to death from the inside out if you follow the math on that one.

And yes Don, ole Ted would whack'em all if they would let him. When you do this to another human being you forfeit your right as one, you are now a Rogue animal and should be put down like one, with ZERO MERCY.

Yes I have...it's been a couple of years now since I checked it, but when I did I discovered I have one of those rascals that lives down the street from me on the corner lot. This guy is in his 50's, maybe early 60's, appears to have a nice home, has a really nice 55 Chevy Nomad in his garage, etc...I've never met the guy nore spoken to him but all outward indications would tell you he's a stand up guy. BUt sure enough he was on the site and listed as an offender. He still lives there down the street from me too.

What is the site to go to, does anyone have a link to it?
