Gluing step pad back on fiberglass fender.

I know there are alot of handy people on here so maybe someone can help. I bought new step pads to put on my trailer and trim adhesive to attach them with. I only put one on last summer and it didn't hold very good. What would you recommend trying on rubber to fiberglass? Thanks for any input.

clean both surfaces very well and use contact cement, I was in the floor covering business and have used to glue most anything to anything, hope it helps

Scratch the fiberglass a little with 100 grit sandpaper and use Gorilla glue. Mask off the area around the rubber to catch the inevitable squeeze-out.
