Never heard of these. I do like the look of it and the price is right.
So does that mean G.L. doesn't work for Shimano? Is he on his own?
Here's what happened.
Several years ago Gary Loomis was diagnosed with a terminal disease (probably cancer) and was given a time period to live. While getting things in order, he chose to leave the rod company with an individual company that he could trust and respected very much. He chose to sell the GLoomis rights to Shimano. Shimano has actually owned GLoomis since the 1990's.
However, Loomis fought a tough battle and is currently okay (I guess in remission). Since Shimano owns the rights and GLoomis name, he ventured yet again into the rod-making business. He is very enthusiastic and looks forward to offering more makes, models, actions, and technique-specific rods in the near future.
What kind of warrenty comes with this rod?
LIFETIME NO FAULT,
There are savings codes floating about the internet as where you can save 10% immediately, but they (tacklewarehouse) are notorious for a 20% off specials here and there - which would put a Gary Loomis designed rod in your hands for $as low as $80 bucks.
Let me know if you get one. I have been looking at those and debating them. If you get one, I want to come check it out.I think it is very interesting and might pick one up Gary Loomis designed it

With the Loomis name on it, I'm definetly interested especially for the price. Please do let us know if you buy one and if it holds up! I've never seen these before.
I played with one at the DCFF fly show at the TFO booth. Very nice rod.
I used to sell TFO fly rods, was never a big fan. Cheap materials. Took a lot of them back for warranty repair, lots. More then any other brand. I know G.L. is designing them but I just don't see them using quality materials in production. That's always been the biggest complaint about Temple Fork, their cheap. The tapers may be good, but I would bet they are junk. Put your money in a better brand's value series is my advice.
I have 3 TFO rods that I use almost exclusively and I've never had a problem with any of them.
