Blugrass crappie

Heading to bluegrass this week to fish for crappie wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on where boughts to try deep or shallow water any help would help.

the entrance to the H (first cove on the right off the main lake) is one of the best spots. The first bank on your left has a fallen tree about 2 foot underwater it's before the first cove on your left. They are stacked on it. The first cove on your left has a ledge that goes from 16' up to about 5' across the whole entrance to it. . That whole ledge holds crappie. The second cove on the right off the main lake is good. The old county road goes right down the middle of it. There are stumps in the middle on both sides of the road. If you are facing the road that comes down the hill the bank on the right is also loaded. If I fished for them I would use live minnows about 24 inches below a float. Then cast light colored bettle spins. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Psvec fishes for them there and has some really good spots besides those that I named. But I'm not giving up his secrets! Hopefully you get rid of some of those suckers so I can fish the bank on the second cove again! I'll be out all day tomorrow so I'll let you know if I run across any of the annoyin buggers.

thanks justin, i do have some good spots, i going to try and get out wed afternoon, ill be in the red and white triton. those are some great spots that justin has, after u fish the beaver dam on the left ( going into the H) go on to the back and start fishing the point and just keeping on fishing to the left, my wife caught a big crappie there, we have been throwing a small pink crappie jig.

Throw a rattletrap everytime im out i catch atleast one crappie bass fishin. There really biting good and i wouldnt mess around deep.. ive talked to guys who swore all the crappie were in 40' but ive been watchin people whack them up shallow for 2 weeks now.

Out of curiosity, have you Bluegrass guys had much luck on any of the smaller pits? Specifically I am wondering about Ringneck and the pit just across the road from it (without a boat ramp ).

My Dad and I fish Bluegrass FWA from time to time and until now took his 19' Red/Blue Stratos on either Loon, Otter, or Bluegrass. Well, to get into the smaller pits here and Sugar Ridge I recently bought one of the 10' Pelican pontoon style boats. We know there is pretty well nowhere that is pressure-free, but I rarely see people in those smaller pits - especially if there isn't a ramp.

So how bout it? Any luck outside of the "Big Three"? I am assuming pretty well all of the pits hold crappie and bass, so this goes for anyone giving them a shot.

caught some nice bass flipping tubes in the lilly pads, there are some big crappies there too, but hard to nail them down.

Agreed. We have hit that pit a few times pretty hard with very little to show for it.

Anyone tried Widgeon or Buck pits?

bird dog has some nice fish in it, but if there are more than 2 or 3 boats there, don't waste your time.
