not to change the subject, how did you do at guntersville?

Thinking of taking a break from RRL and giving BRL another shot. Figure with the warmer weather and rising water, the fishing should have improved dramatically from when I was there at the beginning of the month (blanked). Anyone been recently that would be willing to help a brother out with some info? Thanks guys.

Sunday (didn't fish, just put out some cover) water was cloudy on the main lake. Up the creeks it was muddy, mid creek it was clearer than the main lake. Temp was 53.8
A good friend of mine has been doing very well on the lake...but this was the weekend of the 17th and 18th. He caught 9 keepers in one day (over 50 bass in all !!!).. two just over 5lb. Caught them on a clown color jerkbait (10lb floro)...most all of them...he said he was "walking the dog" with it. Also...said that an SR5 would produce (craw color)! Fish main lake points with the jerk bait. Said it was one of the best days he'd ever had...He goes there a bunch.Thinking of taking a break from RRL and giving BRL another shot. I would say after this warm week that pattern has completely changed. Especially with the full moon near.
What is your best guess on the pattern that the full moon will bring ?
Depending on water temp it will have some of them wanting to move up on the beds. It may be a little early for a big wave of them but I guarantee you there are some on the beds somewhere on the lake. And with the warm day time temps this week and the warm night time temps starting tonight, BRL should be ready to bust wide open. There will be plenty of company on the lake this weekend. I'm hoping for rain, that will keep some people off the lake. Good luck this weekend guys.
Thank you , i was hoping that is what you would say . i will be there next Mon and Tue . my fingers are crossed for the weather to hold . BRL is my home lake , but i've been away far to long .
Let me first say this is not a smartelic comment just I have never heard anybody say working a jerkbait like walking the dog, that's new one on me. Again I'm not being a smartarse just never heard that one before.A good friend of mine has been doing very well on the lake...but this was the weekend of the 17th and 18th. I always reserved that comment for Spooks and surface walkers....
I thought the same thing , but my partner fishes it very fast with the same wrist action as walking the dog , i would be wore out in about an hour fishing it like that. lol . sometimes they like it fast like that , but i do fairly well with a much slower twitch twitch pause , and it still wears me out after five hours .
maybe its its one twitch pause that sends if one way and another one twitch pause that makes it go the other. ive done that before and it does work when they want it real slow
Well, I've decided it is going to be BRL tomorrow. I'll give a full report when I get back. Wish me luck!
