I am looking to up grade an old spinning rod. I am on a tight budget. I found a shimano voltaeus on bass pro shop website, but I dont know anything about them. I have read threads on here about how good some of the other shimano rods are and wonder if this one will be good. I was looking at the 6'6 or 7'0 med action fast tip. Any help would be great.

lol about the tn comment! But 4 real I have a shimano pole and its great! Shimano use to only be known 4 their reels only but now there poles are made from the best grah money can buy. I mean you can feel a fish breath on mine its great and they have a lifetime warr so if your reach 90years old and it brakes then take her back to the store and you get a new one!
I've got the Shimano Clarus (around 79$) and the Compre (99$)
and they both are great rods. Compre is a little lighter and more sensitive, but both have a lifetime over the counter warranty. If the retailer won't trade out for a new one, you can send to Shimano and they will. My 6ft Compre broke 4 years after buying it, not sure if it was my fault but after 4 years I'd guess so. Sent it to Shimano, they replace in one week with a new model
Can't say enough about getting a rod with good lifetime warranty. You'll always come out ahead in the end for the extra bucks you'd pay.
I got a fortune cookie one time that said 'he who knows he has enough is rich.' I think it was talking about my fishing gear! I just got a used G Loomis rod for about $100 off retail from www.gloomis.us. They have a trade-in program for all those who are trading up. Go to their website, scroll down a little and click on their used rods (on right a little way down). They have all kinds of brands usually at 25% off or more. You might get a Compre for the price of a Voltaeus.
