Is there a better way to change the oil (engine oil) in my 4 stroke 115hp than just pulling the drain plug and watch oil go everywhere? Is there a less messy way?![]()
when you remove the drain plug, can you put a tube in the hole where the drain plug was. and let the oil drain through the tube in a pan. I don't know for sure, but this might work.![]()
I had thought of that. Maybe I'll disassemble my beer bong and use the vinyl tubing.... Hahahahha
Trim the motor all the way up, loosen the plug, insert the tube (cut off garden hose or whatever you have available), be sure to have a drain bucket handy, trim the motor down, loosen the oil filter just enough for a little bit of air to enter and push the oil out (but not too loose or you'll get oil in the engine cowling) and then you know the rest.
I've performed this procedure a few hundred times back in my boat dealership maintenance days. It is virtually impossible not to spill a little bit of oil, even when done as fast as possible. Hope this helps you out.![]()
try a syphon pump, draw back till it fills, then squirt the oil intoa container. If the tube is to short get an extension.
Awesome tips.. I thought about using a hose or something, but didn't know if there was a better way of doing it or not. Thanks!!
