Hey whats up yall? This is my only weekend for 3ish months to do any fishing and I am thinking about floating The Drakes creek drainage, starting near franklin and ending just outside of bowling green, over two days. I have waded many parts during the summer time and had lots of luck fishing smallies and spotteds. But I was wondering if anyone knows what the water level is like on the west fork drakes creek and the actual drakes creek? I really want to know if parts are wadeable yet and if its clear or murky? Any info would be awesome and I promise to report when I return monday. Thanks guys. And if anyone has floated this stretch, how long did it take ya?
Drakes Creek is flowing pretty good right now. A good one day trip can be made by putting in at Romanza Johnson Park in Alvaton off Mt. Lebanon Church Rd. and floating down to Phil Moore Park off of Highway 231. Should take about 6 hours to complete. Water clarity is about right. Try spinner baits, small curly-tailed jigs, and crank baits. Good luck!
