The black bass at Lake Cumberland are in the starts of spawning...62/63 water temp found in the backs of most creeks now. It's like we didn't have a spring this year!!!!
..fished 3 days hard with partner, Thur and Friday was the best days...Sat. high prersure pushed them down a bit, and not as good!...Did catch many keepers Thur and Friday on plastics / jig;... Sat., seemed to be a better crank bait bite...a few 3lbs and 4lbs were caught, loaded with eggs. Bass cruising the shallows...with reports of some bass already locked on their nest; and very aggressive! Smallmouth were being caught in fair numbers...they are spawning as well..some in prespawn...big fat smallies were brought to the scales in a KBFN Sat. at Conley Bottoms, one competitor had over 12lbs with three smallies only...won the tournament if Im not mistaken. Much bait fish back in the creeks!!
Frankly...Lake Cumberland is doing well with bass fishing right now.
Thanks for the report.
