Water temps are right for a few bass to be up bedding as well but I havent seen it. I think the big reason is the moon phase isnt right yet.

I haven't heard any reports, on the shad being near the banks. I know it's time for them to start. so I drove down to cherokee lake last night, perfect night the lake was slick as glass after 11pm good and dark, the water temp was 62.7 and only seen one other boat. but the shad wasn't near the banks. I stayed till 2:15 and left. I was hoping for the striper to be hitting top water. but no luck. cherokee is a good striper lake and I think it's always about a week ahead of cumberland for the good striper fishing. has anyone been night fishing, and has the shad moved in near the banks any place else. and I might add, cherokee is down about 15 ft by the way it looked to me. I like to put in at greenlees campground, but could not, it was to shallow and the dock was laying on dry land. so I had to launch farther up the lake.![]()

I have been trying to predict when the bite should be on(water temperatures) and have found they move more around the moon phases, +/-3 days.
