    Love Rattletraps and ProTraps.
    Rattletraps generally need bigger hooks.
The Red eye shads have good balance and fall more horizontally than do the rattletraps and the hooks are a little larger and better. The Pro Traps are great if you can find them. You wont lose as many fish on them either!!

I've got a Plano tray full of about 6 or 7 different brands and probably 15 different colors. I can't tell that one outperfoms another really. It's a reaction type bait, and it moves pretty fast so they have little time to inspect it. As long as it looks somewhat like the forage, they'll hit. For a steady retrieve, any brand will work. However, if you choose to "yo-yo" it I would go with the RedEye or Aruku, they fall vertical with a shimmy that seems a little better.

As far as colors go, there's really only four that you need to cover your basic conditions. A white/shad/sexy shad type color, blue/chrome, gold, and rootbeer/crawfish. I'm fixing to sell off all the other colors I've got, because I always end up throwing one of those 4 with success.

    Good luck!

Super spots are super light. The 1/2oz models are really only like 1/4oz. Which has its place like when the waters really cold and you want a real slow retrieve or in ultra shallow water. But for most lipless crankin id go with a different brand, whatever your confident in.

I am going strictly with the Excaliber XR series. Seems to have great hooks, goes through grass great, casts great, and it holds up with the hard bottom of KY lake and like Barren River. I have a plano box with every kind of rattle bait and would be willing to sell it. It prolly has 50-60 maybe more. Mostly 1/2 oz. and three main colors Chrome, red, and chartruse. The Excalibers are more expensive but you gotta pay to play. Send me a private message to make a deal on baits!
