    Ocoee lake aka Parksville

I used t whiet water raft down at the ocoee a lot and got to talkin to the guides who claim that Ocoee is a descent smallmouth lake. Now it is a long way to drag a boat, so i want to know whether it is worth teh drive...

Have any of you guys fished it? What is the lake like? Deep? Super Clear? Is the fishing as good as they said?

I have not fished it but I believe the new state record spotted bass came from there last year. around 6 lbs if my memory serves me correctly. Fish2win

There are smallmouth in the lake but not as many as there are spots or largemouths. I caught a 6.9 smallmouth there 3 years ago during the winter, it came out of 28 feet of water. I have also netted a 10.4 largemouth a friend of mine caught during a tournament and also witnessed a 10.6 largemouth another fisherman caught a couple of months later. As far as the spot goes I have heard that there was a 6 pound spot caught but I haven't seen the pic's. My son did catch a 5.6 spot 2 years ago and I truely believe there are some in there over 6 pounds.
Lake ocoee/parksville isn't that big of a lake as you can drive from one end to the other in about 20 or 25 minutes, but it's really deep and gin clear so you have to use light line

Finese baits are the ticket with line no heavier than 10 pounds. You really wanna throw a small weight because the fish seem to react to the slow fall alot better than the fast. As far as colors you want to throw motor oil, pumpkin, cherry seed really just anything natural. I sometimes can catch them on fat free shad crankbaits in the sexy shad color but it's not a bait to bank on like the finese is
